Modern slavery is a serious crime and a profound violation of human rights. It deprives individuals of their liberty and dignity for the benefit of others and remains a significant global issue. Millions of people worldwide—including many in developed countries—are subjected to exploitation through various forms of slavery.

Every business faces the risk of being linked to modern slavery, whether through its own operations or its supply chains. Leisuregrow Products Ltd takes this responsibility extremely seriously and operates a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are fully committed to preventing such practices within our business and throughout our supply chain and have taken concrete steps to address these risks, as outlined in this statement.

This statement sets out the actions undertaken during the financial year 2019 to identify, assess, and mitigate the risk of modern slavery associated with our business activities, and to implement effective measures to prevent slavery and human trafficking.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Leisuregrow Products Ltd is headquartered in Hinxworth, with a warehouse located in King’s Lynn. We import and distribute Leisuregrow branded products throughout the UK and Europe. Our supply chain is predominantly based in China, with additional manufacturing carried out in Vietnam.

We seek to establish relationships with our suppliers that are built on trust, integrity, and mutual benefit. Our supplier selection and onboarding procedures include robust due diligence, assessing suppliers’ reputations, legal compliance, adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, and the provision of appropriate references.

During the past year, we conducted a comprehensive risk assessment of our supply chain, taking into account:

  • The risk profile of individual countries based on the Global Slavery Index

  • The nature of the business services provided by suppliers

  • The presence of vulnerable demographic groups

  • Media reporting and insights from labour and human rights organisations

The findings of this assessment inform our response and determine the risk controls we implement.

Policies

Leisuregrow Products Ltd maintains the following policies to identify and prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations:

  • Whistleblowing Policy – We encourage employees, customers, and suppliers to report any suspicions of slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation. A confidential helpline is available to protect the identity of whistleblowers.

  • Code of Conduct – Our Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all employees when representing the company. It promotes ethical conduct and compliance with the law, particularly when operating overseas and managing our supply chain.

Supplier Due Diligence

We conduct due diligence on all new suppliers during onboarding and review existing suppliers at regular intervals. This process includes:

  • Assessing risks associated with specific services

  • Auditing suppliers’ health and safety standards, labour practices, and employment contracts

  • Requiring corrective action where employment practices fall below our standards

  • Applying sanctions to suppliers that fail to make required improvements

All suppliers are required to confirm that:

  • They do not use forced, compulsory, or slave labour

  • All work is undertaken voluntarily, and employees are free to leave employment

  • Each employee is provided with a written employment contract containing a reasonable notice period

  • Employees are not required to pay deposits or bonds, and wages are not withheld unlawfully
