CARE & MAINTENANCE
CARE & MAINTENANCE
For the best results, we recommend bringing LG Outdoor products indoors where possible or using a protective 'breathable' cover throughout the winter months.
It is NOT advisable to cover natural products (Wood, Rope, Ceramic furniture, etc.) with a non-breathable, fully waterproof plastic cover, as these covers can retain moisture under them, causing a build-up of mould or mildew.
Keeping your Weave Looking Brand New
LG Outdoor’s Weave is made exclusively in Vietnam, where weave has been created for hundreds of years.
The non-toxic PE (Polyethylene) weave has been designed to resist saltwater, chlorine, rain and UV light. As a result, this weave is very easy to clean and to keep looking new. Simply use warm soapy water to clean your weave, and use a small brush (i.e. a toothbrush) to get between those harder-to-reach woven areas.
LG Outdoor’s Weave can be recycled at the end of your product’s lifespan, making it safe and environmentally friendly.
Keeping your Rope Looking Brand New
LG Outdoor’s Rope Weave is made exclusively in Vietnam.
The marine-grade, double braided spun polyester rope has been designed to resist saltwater, chlorine, rain and UV light. As a result, this rope is very easy to clean and to keep looking new. Simply use mild soapy water to clean your weave, and allow it to dry naturally. For those harder-to-reach areas, use a small brush (i.e. a toothbrush) to clean.
When storing Rope furniture for an extended period, we recommend cleaning first and then allowing it to dry before being covered by an LG Outdoor breathable furniture cover or stored in a well-ventilated shed where possible.
Caring for your Hanoi Wood
LG Outdoor’s Hanoi Wood products are made from either FSC® Brushed Acacia or Eucalyptus Wood and are crafted to have an authentic distressed finish. The timber used is FSC® certified, ensuring that materials used are from well-managed forests in Vietnam. Due to the organic nature of the wood, the finish will change over time as it ages. A natural colour change will occur, as with all timbers, due to ageing and seasoning. Surface cracks may appear over time but do not have any influence on the structural integrity of the furniture.
As with any wood product, good care is essential to extend the life of your furniture. It is important that you remove any spills or deposits that could stain the furniture as soon as possible. Make sure you never use any abrasive substances, pads or brushes as they will reduce the finish’s resistance to dirt and could degrade the surface’s finish.
Before leaving the factory, all LG Outdoor’s Wooden furniture is given a light UV oil coating for added protection. This prevents moisture from penetrating the surface, protecting from staining (such as tea and red wine). Re-treat the surface of your furniture with a similar protective coating twice a year (and additionally if required) to ensure the maximum longevity of your product.
STEP 1: To clean, remove all dirt using warm, mild soapy water – allow to dry
STEP 2: Using a clean, dry cloth, apply a thin coating of 'UV Protection Oil' (this can be purchased from any hardware store)
STEP 3: Leave to dry for a minimum of 8 hours before use
*Repeat steps 1 to 3 as and when required
N.B. DO NOT use Teak Oil to protect or use a pressure washer to clean any outdoor wood, including Hanoi Wood.
When storing Wooden furniture for an extended period, we recommend cleaning first and then allowing it to dry before being covered by an LG Outdoor breathable furniture cover or stored in a well-ventilated shed where possible.
Caring for your Cast Aluminium
The Cast Aluminium used for LG Outdoor is an anti-rust material, so it can be left outdoors all year round and has been powder-coated to give an added layer of protection from wear and tear and scratching. To clean powder-coated frames, wash down regularly with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Hose regularly with fresh water to remove airborne contaminants. Regular use of a mild wax polish will help maintain the showroom finish.
Metal Frames
LG Outdoor’s Metal Frames have been designed to offer long-lasting durability in outdoor conditions. The metal frames go through a superior 3-step protective process known as EDP (Electro Deposited Primer). This process ensures the highest level of protection is applied so your product will last years to come.
How the EDP process works:
STEP 1: The metal is acid dipped to remove any traces of rust and to help adhere the primer to the metal, plus protects against corrosion
STEP 2: The metal frames and the primer are electrically charged, the frames a positive charge, the primer a negative charge. This automatic process works by the two attracting to each other to get a thick, even coverage.
STEP 3: Once the powder coating has been heated to over 200 degrees Celsius, it is applied to the metal evenly to give the finished colour and final layer of protection
After some months outdoors, and in particular damp/cooler conditions, regular garden mildew may build up on your product. This is normal and is easily cleaned off. Simply use warm soapy water to clean your Metal Frames.
Ceramic Tips
Before leaving the factory, all of LG Outdoor’s Ceramic tables are given a water-resistant coating for added protection. This prevents moisture from penetrating the tiles, protecting from staining (such as tea and red wine) as well as frost (down to -10â°C). Retreat the surface of your Ceramic table with a similar protective coating twice a year to ensure the maximum longevity of your product.
After some months outdoors, and in particular damp/cooler conditions, regular garden mildew may build up on your product. This is normal and is easily cleaned off. Simply use warm soapy water to clean your Ceramic furniture.
Textilene Tips
To clean LG Outdoor’s Textilene, wash with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Allow to dry naturally. After some months outdoors, and in particular damp/cooler conditions, regular garden mildew may build up on your product. This is normal and is easily cleaned off. Simply use warm soapy water to clean your Textilene.
Care for your Cushions
It is best to bring cushions indoors when it is raining to preserve the look of the fabric. Cushion covers are removable for machine washing up to 40â°C to keep them looking fresh and new.
Eden season-proof cushions are not suitable for machine washing and are spot clean only.
